Found this thing wrapped around my pulsing xenia.
What is it and is it bad for my tank. If bad how do you get rid of it if there are anymore. Found one before but wasn't smart enough to get picture.
This time took picture, any help would be appreciated.

Looks like a bristle worm so you can put it back - Bristle worms can be annoying but aren't usually bad. Good Scavengers.

I thought since it was around the base of my coral that it may be doing damage to the Xenia and didn't want it to damage any other of my corals. How do these worms get into the tank in the first place. I had dipped my corals to kill bugs so how would they get introduced to tank.

They can be introduced on any piece of coral or live rock you put in your tank. They are a vital part of a healthy system.

If you find one near a coral, it may mean there's been dieoff on the coral: the worms play the part of doctors, cleaning off wounded areas. They can only eat stuff the consistency of slime, or dissolved food.

Thank you all for the information. Haven't added any new live rock since tank start up. Maybe I just missed seeing them until now. Since everyone is of the option that they are ok to have in my tank, then in my tank they will stay. Big learning curve to this new hobby. Thanks again for the help.

hmm - that doesn't look like a bristle, it looks like an onone.
If so they will kill your clean up crew, clams, and some corals. Find other pictures and see. Bristle worms have distinct bristle bunches. Onone's have what looks like a solid appendage, they are also more yellow in color.
