Worm?

Last night I was moving things around and when I pulled my frogspawn out, it had this on it. It appears to be some type of worm. Anyone have any idea what kind?

The biological name for these is "gross" worms. ;)

If I see the image correctly, I had one like that. It didn't get too big and was harmless. Stayed in a particular rock that it chewed passages through and ate detritus and leftover food. It got to about 6" and it creeped me out so I killed it!

My first thought was some sort of feather-duster as it is in a tube. That is also what I was told in the Other Inverts forum. The dusters I see at the LFSs around here are free and this one appears to have attached to the base of the frogspawn. Do feather dusters attach to things?

yea there are tube worms that make calcified structured. coco worms are one. I dont see a crown though, had you ever seen one?

I have not. I just noticed him Wednesday night when I was pulling rock out to find some coral frags that disappeared. I flipped my lights back on when I got home last night and it looked like he was poking out of the open end just a little bit, but not enough to get any idea of what he looks like.

I still can't catch him while he's out of his tube. He seems nocturnal and by the time the halides have gotten bright enough to see, he's pulled back into his tube.

I was finally able to catch a glimpse of this guy tonight and I think SushiGirl is correct. He only had two antennae sticking out of the top of the tube.
