Worm's 180 build

I was at the 5th light. So I can assume 50%. Still gives me the option to ramp it up. Right now the manifold is mostly empty so I did not take off from the DT supply. Once I add back to it I will ramp them up a bit more.

This three day weekend I am going to do some major tank maintenance and things

  • clean quite a few things (MP40 heads too)
  • scrubbing inside the tank
  • wiring
  • wipe down things
  • water change
  • remove back frag rack and clean off
  • mount L1 control heads
  • mount mp40 control heads
  • clean out ATS
  • get snowed in
  • inventory of 265 parts

Just to keep track of things.

I will probably setup my cameras and do a timelapse. Plus pull out the gopro and record some items directly. Might do a voice over video so you have something more interesting to look at.

If anyone has ideas or things you would like to see in the tank or behind it tell me so I can plan and answer some questions people have.

For those that look at the webcam you might see quite a bit of this live.

Worked on getting cyno cleaned out and did a water change.

More importantly had fun with the family. Figured I would do some of these other tasks when they are asleep or busy xboxing.

Ohh it did not snow either.

I did make a video on the tank clean up with a small view of the 180 and sump. It is uploading now and I will post it once it is completed.

Yeah just a bit of video editing. LOL. Rendering did not take that long. I think it was just the scrubbing and putting it together.

Now that I have finally made it through all 58pgs of your thread I am subscribed!
Your tanks looking really good. I really like how well you have documented everything over time and the web cam is awesome! I found myself playing around with it with the link you put for it. I know that I will be acquiring one myself after I get things up and going after seeing yours. How do you like the L1 so far? I was considering getting a Jebao but I am up in the air since they can't be hooked to a Apex anymore. The L1 was also one on my list of possibilities, so I was just wondering your thoughts so far.

So far, after only 2 weeks, it is running flawlessly. Which it should. Out of the box one would expect items to run correctly.

I like the way I was able to adjust the max and min points. This way, granted it is a separate device, I can use the reeflink and let it go to feed mode which will keep it at the minimum and reduce bubbles being introduced. I usually look at my sump when I put it in feed mode to see the level and ensure that nothing has moved in the ATO sensor.

Basically right now I am using them like I used the DC12000 with feed mode disconnecting the power to the plug. I can reach over and lower the rate easier during tank maintenance, and not worry about making sure I did not set it too high. I have my high/low set in the sump to how much water it flows and power off levels.

When I migrate to the 265 I am sure it will need to be set more powerful to provide adequate flow.

A friend had commented that I should look at a jebao too but I decided to migrate them to this series.

Thanks for subscribing.

My youtube channel has quite a bit of videos that document different items in the tank, that may not be up here. I am working toward making a better quality video at least once a month.

It is funny that people talk about pages on a thread. I have my setting in the forum to show me 100 per page, so my numbers are 1/2 of what most people see.

I check on the tank about once a day just after light up. Sometimes I see it move when I am viewing it. It is funny what people look at in the room. I have limiters set on it as to not allow viewing all over that area. When I move it to the garage I am going to unlock it and let people see all over the room.

Well took out some cheato from the sump last night:

Just a little harvesting! I enjoyed your last video with that beautiful clam too!

Wow... nice. I need for my refugium to work like that!

It was about the size of a baseball when it started. The ATS was not cutting it that much. So I took it off line and put the Cheato in there. I am cleaning out the ATS real good so maybe it will have a chance to recoup and work better.

Thanks, that clam has been with me for like 5 years now, maybe 4. I thought I got him when I only had a 120.

That is an insane amount of chaeto. May I ask what light you are using over your refugium?

I got a kessil a150 over that part of the sump.

I cant remember when i put that cheato in there, I`ll have to scroll back. I think only a month or two.

It really has grown well, it used to turn on its own, I turn it by hand now daily, well before I cut it back.

Well in scrolling back, on something I can read better, It was around Dec 22. that I posted the video and my e-mail receipt says Dec 3 I purchased the cheato.

Not bad from baseball size to basketball size in 2 months.

Is it the 150P?

Is it the 150P?

It is actually the Kessil A150W Amazon Sun version.

I got it strictly for the sump/refuge. It can grow some greenery. I have two, but just one running right now.

I have two Corarse Wrasses.

Today I was feeding the tank before having to go out to the store. I put the tank in feed mode, which cut off the pumps and the MP40's.

Once I was done feeding I sat for a minute or two just seeing how things were.

Well I got back from the store and dinner a bit ago and noticed that I could only see one wrasse. So I took out the phone and took videos behind the tanks, in the two over flows, in the sump. Ended turning EVERYTHING off, like power failure, just to see if it got stuck somewhere.

Well here it comes out from behind the rock work.

I picture he must have got in one of the PH and happened to be there when it all started back up. No cuts on it's body, just a shaved tail. It had to have been out and hiding in the sand when I actually left. Now it is slowly swimming along.

I will see how it goes through the night and check in the AM to make sure it is not floating (noon for lights up here). Then when I get back from running the road I will have to check again.

I should probably put the WebCam on the Haddoni and see if it floats into it, but wont be able to see it in the dark all night.

I do. If you look at the webcam, listed above, the DT goes down about 1130p and the Sump comes on at midnight. Opposite cycle when the lights come up.
