Worms, Worms and more Worms

How can I get rit of these worms ,Have a coral bandit shrimp and that isn't doing much good. any ideas. thx

wow thats alott of bristle worms!! last I knew there really isnt anything wrong with them. I beleive arrow crabs are the best choice my sixline will also eat small ones.

If you have a lot of worms crawling all over, that means there is a lot of detritus for them to eat. Controlling their food source to reduce their numbers is going to be a lot better for your water quality than killing all the worms and having the detritus fester.

im not sure so much on detritis as this is a new tank set up and new sand, these worms we had in the rocks, and now they just going nuts. (friend of gandolf) we do feed the fish good, so wonder if thats contributing to the reproduction as well?

I had a similar population in my tank. I scaled back my feeding, and they became much less noticeable within a couple of weeks.

net them up and throw them into your fuge if you have one. They are a good cuc though so I wouldn't try and rid the tank of them all together. they do make traps for them most lfs's carry them x4 on the feeding issue for future control of them

so what would be the best approach to take on this? how would we control the detritus without such an abundant of worms.

Sand stiring once a month? not sure what we can do. (i always ran into this roadbloack of how to keep the display tank clean)

Feedings will help reduce it some, but other then that, not sure what to do. Sump set up has 3 filters to capture any floating debris, they are rinsed and or changed weekly.

Get a wrasse from the Halichores genius. Awesome fish and they love worms.

I don't see any problem here. Feed less (if possible) and the worm population will dwindle over time.

If it is a new tank, perhaps you have had some dieoff on the rocks that they are feeding on. The are very efficient eaters, so when something dies, you will usually not see any evidence of it before they completely devour it.

well its not so much a new tank, its a new set up, we went from a 90 to a 180, used new sand ect. same rock though.

We had lost the 6 line wrasse a few months back, maybe well look into getting afew wrasses to help keep the worms in check.

I know you want to have them in the tank, just not this many hehe.

i think my clown got bristles stuck in his face. has anyone ever heard of this?? or if not, what could it be? the clown litteraly looks like a porky pine on his face area!!!
