If you have a lot of worms crawling all over, that means there is a lot of detritus for them to eat. Controlling their food source to reduce their numbers is going to be a lot better for your water quality than killing all the worms and having the detritus fester.

im not sure so much on detritis as this is a new tank set up and new sand, these worms we had in the rocks, and now they just going nuts. (friend of gandolf) we do feed the fish good, so wonder if thats contributing to the reproduction as well?
