Worst experience in my entire life!!!!

This has to be the worst experience I have ever been subjected to. I ordered this angel fish to be shipped nextday priority from Divers den which fedex site says will be delivered at 3pm but apparantly it is an estimate and can take up to 8pm, they don't say that when ordering but ofcourse we have to call them to find that out.

SO I am waiting here until 3pm to go pick up the package, the fedex website still shows "in transit", so I call them to see what is going on, they first say they will check with fedex and call me back, five minuites later the lady calls me and says their lines are down so I need to call the local office and see if the package is there, so being the dork I am I call the fedex office, ofcourse the package isn't there... Brilliantly enough I have planned on going out of town at 5:00pm, So I call back their number and demand that something be done since tomorrow is saturday and in the past month I have some real bad success rate when ordering fish from you guys, once an order of 6 anthias ventrilis came in DOA, all six croaked a couple already decaying in the bag and two of the replacements came in DOA and they all died in 24 hrs.... they were on sale Hmmmmmm......
SO the super asks me are you sure the fish were dead....... say what!!!!!.... after a whole bunch of unwanted conversations..... she tells me the pacakage can comein until 8pm, over 24hrs in this weather, I have no confidence that the fish will be alive, but she says they can stay in the bag for 48 hrs.... Apparantly Now I am black listed from Live aquaria.... hahaha!!! whatever.... If you think I will order again from live aquaria, you are nuts... Over the years I have ordered from marinedepotlive/ Dr. Macs/ fish post/ fish supply... etc... etc.... Not a single incident .... How come my success rate is 46% with you guys... Your service is terrible....

Amuruges,

I am the Manager that you spoke with and I am sorry that we were unable to satisfactorily work this out during our conversation. Since you were unable to accept the shipment I have taken care of rerouting the Diver’s Den item back to our Wisconsin facility and have begun the process of refunding you for your full purchase. It is always our aim to provide excellent service to our customers and at the same time ensure the health of our livestock. I apologize that this shipment did not meet your expectations and if you would like to discuss this further please contact me personally at 1-800-334-3699.

Amuruges, your a knucklehead. Of course the fedex site is just an estimation, havent you ever sent anything in the mail before? Have you ever been on an airplane before? There are delays and other unforseen circumstances.

You have no business ordering fish if you have to leave town in 2 hours. What if the fish needs a long acclimation period? Or where you just going to drop him in the tank and figure the 14 day guarantee would cover your loss.

Lucky for you the people at LA are more tactfull than I am. I dont think LA would miss your business.

I know this message is harsh, but you are way out of line.

Yes I am the knuckle head, cause I am responding to you right....
The package still sits at Indianapolis, in 50deg weather, And Yes ofcourse you expect me to wait till tomorrow to get the package right, That is if fedex will deliver to the drop off location and while I put my life on hold, right... why cause I am the knucklehead.... hahaha!!! I don't expect them to miss my business. I have been sending a few thousands a year on frozen food since before they were Drs. foster and smith, funny I just got one delivered today.... I guess the enormous burden is on me to find another source now, since I am blacklisted and all, right... very funny.... And thanks for your valuable input, I will remember that until I push the submit button.

Do you have buddies that you request to watch your fish? feed them... maybe acclimate them if needed... unfortunatly they can't get the package cause they don't look like you or have the same name.... Think before you post.

Take a deep breath, dude. First of all, the vendor (liveaquaria) is not the same as the delivery company. LA only states what is also stated by fedex, and that is that deliveries are guaranteed by a certain time, OR THE SHIPPING is free. There are many outside influences, as mjdlonghorn stated, such as weather, equipment malfunctions, etc, that can affect the arrival time. I ship via FedEx all the time, over 30 packages per week, and I can tell you that they do not get there by the promised time every single time. They are, however, the best in the business for on time delivery.

I am wondering about a few things in your first post. You said you paid for priority overnight? Priority is guaranteed by 10:30am in most areas and by12:00 in almost all other areas serviced. Are you sure you didn't pay for standard overnight service? That is guaranteed by 3pm, according to FedEX website. If that is the case, and you knew you had to go out of town by 5pm, you should have paid the extra $10 for the earlier delivery. Also, you said you had to go pick up the package? I'm confused there, too. Were you not at home to accept delivery?

I seriously doubt you were "blacklisted" as you say. Do you think that LA purposely had FedEX delay your package? I don't understand.
Just about 5 weeks ago, you said you were happy with them and would definitely go back. hmmmm, now that is interesting:)

Anyhow, it sounds like you are getting your money back, and they are getting their fish back, so hopefully that will make you happy. It sounds like some excellent service at LA once again, and I for one, would be thrilled that they are giving you a refund for an issue that was clearly FedEx's error. I doubt that any of those other vendors you list would do the same. You would get a "store credit" if you were lucky.

Cheers!

Tony

Their words, not mine, Since I can't tell if a fish is dead or not.... yes apparantly I have been throwing away live fish, thinking they were dead.....

Yeah!!! That was one hell of a conversation I had with them. All I wanted to know was, If the package dosen't come in today by 8pm, will they give me a full refund. She couldn't garantee that and went about saying if I don't pick up the package, which I couldn't if it dosen't come before I leave town, I would be on the road like I am now.... how the garantee will be void... etc... etc... I didn't get a commitment to refund and them re-routing the package until I mentioned, that I would contest the charges with my creditcard company if the package is not delivered by 8pm today. I was willing to delay my plans, but they prefer to make a note "not to ship anymore live orders to me". Which is fine by me.

As for the method yes, it was nextday, garanteed by 3:00pm, I usually have it held near the sorting facility so I can save a good 3 to 4 hrs. They get their deliveries at 9:00am 10:30am and 12:00pm, so a 3:00pm garantee will be there at the latest by 12:00, but I did wait till 3:30pm before requesting info. So fedex Sux, whatelse is new.

If anyone needs any more info please pm me. It is point less to keep posting. On the other hand if you have any choice words like mjdlonghorn did, for me. Please do post, I constantly try to reinvent myself through others eye. Tks.

amuruges-

You are way out of line. Order anything online. anything at all. Is there a risk of delivery problems? absolutely- with every one. If you cannot accept this risk, buy at a local fish store instead. Here, you seem to blame the supply company, rather than anyone else (including yourself)- and why is this? I think you re trying to manipulate the customer service they supply. Id blacklist you, too.

Do everyone in this hobby a favor, and do not bad mouth a extremely high quality company for speculatively fraudlulent purposes.

Why wouldn't you wait till you came back from your trip to have your fish delivered? I couldn't imagine ordering fish with only 2 hrs to acclimate and make sure nothing beat them up as soon as they went in with only 2 hours to work with and that's IF they got there on time. You didn't act responsibly here....

Not even close to responsible. It is a scenerio for disaster all around. If a person is so impatient to get something that he will discount its ability to survive, they are not going to be rational enough to accept the responsibility. People that cannot control their urges and impulses to do things rashly, always blame others for their own personal failures.

Amuruges Just curious do you live in Atlanta ? I live in Athens and my Fedex deliveries are rarely later than 10:30 am I got my last one Wednesday right before Christmas and it was on time even with the shipping rush at that time. Anyway hope things get better. Good Luck

Mark

Once again, LA comes through above and beyond what is necessary or expected, IMO/E.

I have ordered many items from LA and I ALWAYS get priority overnight as it means that the animals are in transit less time. Almost always FEDEX is 45 minutes early. One time they were on time but it was snowing. LA did more than they should have dealing with a customer that was ornery and fairly ignorant of good practice.

This is a great example of poor impulse control. Again you see someone who just has to buy another fish today, even if they don't have the time to care for it. If the school bus is late do you just leave a PB&J on the step and leave town anyway?

LA is one of the best vendors out there. This is a rare case where the vendor has the high ground.

Yeah!!!! Right..... Spot On!!!! I assume everyone who has responded to this thread, calls their friends and relatives, before you place the order to make sure that their loved ones aren't planning on dieing. I should remember to do that the nexttime. Yes, top notch alright, the fish came in on saturday not friday at 8:00pm, I probably wasted half the value of the shipment in filling up my gastank....
I wasn't even offered a refund for the shipping charges,.... Oh!!! that's right, I should have called and begged pretty please, right!!!....... Whatever!!!

Oh!!! btw!!! I don't like peanut.... butter nor gallery.....

Amuruges,
My employee Jaimie apologized twice for an error that was beyond any of our control. I will apologize a third time, I am sorry.

I do think that it is best if you take your posts and your future business elsewhere. Sometimes things happen that none of us can control and I do not think that Jaimie should bear the burden. She is a wonderful, kind and caring employee and I am proud to work next to her. I am not happy about your treatment of her and therefore, you are the second person in five years to be asked to leave LiveAquaria.

I am sorry that FedX and LiveAquaria let you down, it will not happen again.

Moderators please close this thread and accept my apologies.

Race Foster, D.V.M.
