Worst LFS salt prices possibly ever!

I stopped by one of our only lfs's in whole eastern half of the state:rolleye1: here's two prices that might blow your mind....they made me turn around and walk out immediately, laughing the whole way.

Price for '50g Bag'
I.O. - $28(S.F. $11.50)
Reef Crystals - $30(S.F. $13.50)

Price for a 'Bucket'
I.O. - $60

I'm not going to begin to tell you the prices of the fish!!!

Yah, $90 for a bucket of Instant Ocean over here too in some LFS.

The bigger chains really aren't that bad by comparison.

$9.70 for the 5g box of IO.
$45 for the 50g IO bag.

Shesh, I buy 50 gallon bags of instant ocean for 16 dollars from Petsmart.. thats insane (i think its about 50 for a bucket)

I went to both petsmart and petco....they had only oceanic in bags and I.O buckets for $50(i don't use I.O., i use Reef Crystals)

If i did use I.O. i would price match to get it real cheap though.

Oh and some of the prices you guys are dealing with are just rediculous!

Petsmart do a price match, just go online to their store and print out their online price and take it into the store. It's $31.99 for a 50lb bucket online and that what I pay when I go to my local petsmart with the printout.

BINGO. Same thing I do. Saves a fortune on shipping for heavier items.

Yep, that's what I do. Although they started raising the in-store pricing to cut down on this. Jerks.

As I said, I 'would' do that 'if' I used Instant Ocean, but I don't.
I use Reef crystals which petsmart, petco do not carry.

I don't deal with it.. I get my salt from F&S. $41 a bucket to the door.... that's actually cheaper then anyplace within 100 miles!! Well except for F&S, but with gas prices, $9.99 shipping is better then me driving there!!

You guys are a riot. The Petco here sells the bucket for $78 and doesn't honor any low price guarantee... I have no other stores closer than an hour away, so I am constantly on the lookout for specials on line

how are we a riot? the fact that your petco sells it for that is the riot...and hopefully you don't spend that or that would be sad.
it's one thing to support an lfs by paying more(which i do as often as possible), but petco?

You took it wrong. I was getting a chuckle and thought I would chimb in to say that it can be even worse...

And no I don't pay that price That's why I look for the on-line deals.
