Worst LFS salt prices possibly ever!

I get my salt from petsmart, 31.99 with online price match for a bucket.

I don't see why they would raise the price, they do not get salt water people in the door that often. So far I have spent maybe $100 on things from petsmart I would not have purchased unless I came to the store for salt.

I had a manager argue once that he had to add the frieght charge, and that managment was "getting on them". I told him if he didn't mind to take the bucket back to the shelf and I would just come in on a day he didn't work to get the salt, I also had a hand full of other stuff that I left on the counter. Since then he has price adjusted it the correct way instead of carrying the goods back to the shelf.

all petcos haveto honor the price match

That is what I thought and once was having a bit of an emergency. When I took the lower price in, they stated that this particular Petco is independently owned and refused to honor the price. They advised that on the Petco website, there is an asterisks and a clause releasing them from particular price matching. Claimed it had to do with the high cost of living/transportation/overhead and operating costs of this particular area. It's true the cost of living here is tough, but it's even tougher when you can't sell anything:) And I'm not usually one that gripes about prices, just moves on if I don't want to pay it... But this was the one time I actually had my heart skip a beat:D

all petcos haveto honor the price match

That's not the case here in the Chicago area I guess, as I had 4 different local Petco stores tell me they do not honor their online prices.

the word "all" used to describe a situation is almost always false.

As HOP discussed, they dont all have to.

;) sorry

the only cheap thing in Congressional Aquarium in Rockville, MD is salt at $9.99 for the 50 lb bag of IO. No one else in our area offers that price but them.

Thats a great price! I have never seen salt in small bags come out to the same price as a bucket.
