So because its spooky season already, i wanna here some of your guys/ gals, worst experiences with pests, so far for me the worst has just been feather dusters everywhere. (I might have stole the idea from a rival reef fourm)

Whats wrong with feather dusters?

For me, the worst pest was brown and/or blue cloves! They took over my rock, choked out zoas and sps. The fenbendazole treatment took them out but was harsh on my tank

My tank is relatively new, just on 1 year, so for me it's definitely been GHA which I am now nearly on top of.

I like my Feather Dusters!

Waving Hand Anthelia.. Damn weed..
Went from a 1" frag to covering every surface of my old 120G 6ft tank in 1 year..

And yes.. feather dusters are harmless/beneficial filter feeders in my eyes..

Only real pests I've had to deal with were zoa eating nudibranch and aiptasia. I'm pretty sure the nudi's finished off my zoas and then died off with the zoas and then aiptasia were cleaned up by peppermint shrimp, so not really a huge issue.

Good old bubble algae for me. My previous tank, a 20 gallon, had an outbreak that got completely out of hand. At one point every square inch of rock and coral was covered. It took about an hour of manual removal, once a week, for the better part of a year to get it under control.

Just start over at that point..... :D

I dated a girl for ONE LUNCH DATE back in '07. I showed her my tank to be nice and give us something to talk about. I haven't had any interest in her since 2 minutes in to that date but she still periodically asks me if I am setting up a tank again.

Bebacks are by far the worst pest I've come across in this hobby. They come into the shop and waste my time asking for equipment advice, jotting it all down like a student at a lecture at UW Madison. Once they get what they want they say, "OK, I'll be back." That's code for I'm going to order all this stuff online. I can spot a beback from a mile away so I always make sure to recommend terrible equipment.

Bad advice from the LFS isn't always rooted in ignorance.
