Worth a shot---- bulkhead on a plastic container.

Bought a used 225 water storage container and the previous user made the bottom hole to close to the bottom of the tank , not accounting for the inner circumference of the bulkhead inside thus the bulk head wont seat . Any suggestions??

Can I plug the plastic hole?
Is it worth going thru the troubles?

THX in advance

If it is going to be anywhere that could possibly flood a house, I would not trust it. If you can take it back to the previous owner, that is what I would do.

Get a oversize rubber gasket and crank it down . If it still leaks just use marine silocon over the bulkhead areas that leak until they stop. As long as the integraty of the container is not compromised and the container was made to hold what your putting in it.

Can you grind down the bulkhead ring on the bottom a little bit to make it fit? If you are going to keep it outside you can risk it.

I have had this problem before. The cure all for it is hot glue. Make sure you get the hot glue gun real hot before ya squirt it on. It will almost melt the plastic and glue together. Also do both sides once the glue dries it is inert. I had to do this on my top of water storage bin. Been working without any problems / leaks for over 2 years now.

thx for all the input- ive consider the hot glue and the silicone after dremeling the bulkhead to fit.

As far as working from the inside- not happening since the vat is tall and my arms are not go-go gadget arms lol
