Not for Anthias but for another kind of rare fish like a tang or angel, you betcha! Heck I know several on here that buy peppermint angels like they were two for 10$

One of the few billionaires that keeps a reef tank is Vivek Ranadive, owner of Sacramento Kings. All his has in his tank is a yellow tang, sailfin tang, a maroon clownfish and a few other non fancy fish. You know what that tells me? expensive fish is not a good investment.
