Would You Rather Have a Pair of B&W Ocellaris, or Normal Ocellaris Clowns?

Thanks for all the replies. Ha Im actually really surprised to see this many people prefer b&w clowns over the regular ocellaris clowns.

I personally like percs the best but between those two, it would have to be the black and whites.

Im a classic kind of guy and like the orange. To me that is the way nature made them and for some reason I like it that way.

Who do you figure made the black ones? :)

The black or "Darwin" Ocellaris are a natural variant local to the reefs off Darwin Australia.

I think it depends on what you are getting them for, and what color the background is on your tank. If you have a black background, the B+W's kinda disappear into the background. If you plan on breeding, with the hopes of making a little cash, I'd go with B+W's.

I do have a black background, and I was actually maybe thinking of breeding some day. So saying that I went out and got a pair of the normal ocellaris clowns. I don't know why, I just prefer them over the b&w clowns.

I would advise against the 6 line as they are very aggressive to any new tankmates you may introducate after him. I sometimes wish I wouldn't have gotten one.

I have an ORA B&W and a ORA Black Ice Semi-snowflake.

I think these are beauties..they were sold fast. They called them Fancy Ocellaris.

If I had a choice between a pair like these or the b/w ocellaris. I'd probably go for these.

What do you guys think is a fair price for a mated pair of black clowns?

I paid $100 but have seen them for much more.

Is this a good deal?

What did you guys pay for yours?

I paid $80 for my pair black and whites. I just bought two which were alone together in a tank, and they spawned a year later

When I first got them

I have both. Orange and black. Orange durning the day... Black when moon lights are on in the evenings. LOL

Aren't those Perc's? Look at the front dorsel fin. Percs have 9 while Occ's have like 11? Or do I have it backwards?

Just to show the color difference... The lighter at bottom tank raised Occ...Red baby is just as red as my scarlet skunk shrimp. Both were 1-1 1/8"
