Wrasse Acclimation Box

Hi all

So I plan to intro 2 or 3 wrasses at the same time into my DT. First I thought its not necessary to add them via a acclimation box as I just have one C. exquisitus in the 180g DT. My problem is my purple dottyback.. He is quite aggressive towards new tank members.

My question is: Can I put 2 or maybe 3 wrasses into this acclimation box without any problems? I want to put C. jordani and P. cerasinus into it.

No worry, the scotts on the picture isnt in the tank anymore.

Ive tried to catch him several times but didnt had success.. He just has no interest in my fishtrap.. DO you think the acclimation box is too small for 2?

No, I didnt try the hook method. Tell me more about it please..
Ok, so you would say just 1 fish into this box. I thought it would be better to add 2 new fishes at the same time to confuse my established fishes in the tank.

take a very small hook, fine line, file off the barb and bait it. I know a ton of people who have used this as a last resort when confronted by an elusive target.

When I add wrasse I do it one at a time using a box until im sure there is no aggression from established fish. Hunter (evolved) gave me this advice and I've been able to mix many wrasse, even fairy wrasse of a similar complex.

I got a big enough box that I can do the same with tangs and small angels. I feel this is the best way to add fish having tried the 'add multiples at once' trick before.

But what when I hurt other fish? He is the smallest of all fish in the tank :D
Other fishes are very interested in everything I put in. My MI is a beast and wants to eat everything :P

Ok, so I will add them just one at a time with my acclimation box. Do you please your acclimation box at the top of your tank or do you put it deeper into it?

I keep my acclimation box near the top of the tank. Makes it much easier to feed the acclimating fish, plus you notice aggression much more when a fish is "out in the open" flashing at the box, vs. swimming near the bottom of the tank where you may not notice it.

Yes, I put mine at the top of the tank as well for the same reasons.

Also, I've done multiple wrasses (small, peaceful ones) in the box at the same time, and have never had a problem doing such. A couple larger ones might not work out as well though.
