I'm so excited... I just ordered from L.A. for the 1st time after so many years in this hobby. I have to say, I've ordered from many online retailers before and LA definitely goes above and beyond. I ordered a linespot flasher wrasse :inlove: and a female hooded wrasse. Hopefully my current wrasses play nice, so far in the acclimation box (2 days) they show no interest.

Hooded & Linespot in acclimation box: The hooded is very inquisitive!

Linespot & hooded Wrasses: Here you can see the hooded color better.

Finally, my Leopard Wrasse and Whipfin that my new inhabitants will share the tank with.

congrats! i have 3 wrasses from LA and they are all awesome!! if your current fish are showing no interest after 2 days, you'd probably be safe to turn the new kids loose. post more pics! i LOVE wrasses!

Ill probably let them loose tomorrow night just to make sure everything goes smooth. Im not going to lie, the Line spot is quickly becoming my favorite too. Ill post more pictures as soon they're comfortably out and about. Angels use to be my favorites, but w so much corals, I started looking elsewhere for color and movement. Wrasses may be my favs now! Love them!

Aw congrats! I just got my first wrasse from DD yesterday, a little possum. He is quickly becoming my favorite. Neat little personalities, alas I have contracted the wrasse bug :)

Keep your eye on the whip fin...they can be aggressive and kill new wrasses... I have 40+ wrasses, but no whip fins or 6 lines!

thank you guys, I'm so excited to add them. I haven't been excited for things going in to my tank in a while. Thanks for the torch compliments, its my favorite variety of corals.

I have my eye on the whipfin. I've been hearing that lately about them, although, mine doesn't look like it fits the profile, I'm not letting my guard down. :)

I added my Whipfin last and it went after every wrasse in my tank, even wrasses that were twice it's size. I got rid of it quickly.

yea, i've been hearing that a lot lately... I'll be sure to keep an extra eye on it, if not I'll move it. looks docile w my leopard wrasse that was added after it.

did you just dump it in or did you use an acclimation box??

I used an acclimation box. the whip fin, nor the leopard showed any interest at all. it had been a couple of days, so I released then after lights out last night and have the tank blacked out today. tomorrow will be judgment day. :)

any update with this? I was thinking about a pair of whipfins (Cirrhilabrus filamentosus) curently have a small flame angel & 1 Cirrhilabrus cyanopleura. I guess by most accounts, I'll nix the idea all together ...

C. filamentosus is typically quite aggressive, and one I advise against if you desire multiple wrasses.

There's always exceptions, but that's not the norm.

There's only guidelines in wrasseland, rather than hard set rules. :)

ok, sorry I havent updated.

I had to catch the Whipfin because it only likes my leopard wrasse. My other wrasses settled in because the whipfin was in a separate container to be sold. The day I went to sell the whipfin to a fellow reefer that only wanted on wrasse in his tank, it escaped back into the tank. So its now w the general population, but is now tolerant of the other fish, I guess cuz the others settled in.

So although I still have mine, I agree w this! If it needs to be removed again, I will remove it. Or if it just gets caught in the trap by accident, Ill take it out too, even if its on good behavior. I cant have it giving me issues every time I want fish added. Although, I think Im fully stocked... But still!

After this, I suggest only add if theyre the only or last wrasses.

Linespots are my fave flasher by far!

Now that I've had it for a bit and its comfy... Beautiful fish!!! Prettiest Wrasse I've owned (and the leopard too) but I have yet to own the pricier ones. I WOULD put it in the same as them though!!! For the price, you can t beat a Liinespot Wrasse in beauty.

P.S.- Although nice, Its not as pretty after seeing it next to the Linespot, so not worth the headache for me.
