It's interesting that when these fish first surfaced about a year or so ago, there was little or no interest. At least nothing that I knew of. Hence the cheaper price as someone has already mentioned. I could have gotten my dirty paws on some but it just wasn't my cup of tea. I wondered why the sudden surge in popularity?

Here is my stance on fish- they are easy to keep. Diseases are known and medications for such are common. There is no plague, not unexpalined problems. Therefore, I am not worried about my expensive fish just "dying". I care for my fish, and if they show illness, I treat them appropriately. It would be like you never maintaining your $2000 road bike, and me claiming they are "prone to catastrophic self failure". Its just not true. Especially since we are talking about fish that are known as hardy fish. Not a Pinnatus Batfish or Harlequin filefish, but fish known to eat well and tolerate captivity well. Why is it being treated as such a gamble? I have a high dollar amount of fish in my tank, and feel totally safe and secure in their survival. I have taken the steps for them.
If we want to talk about jaw dropping dollar figures, 3/4 of the other "hobbies" of reef aquarists (or anyone for that matter) can fall into it. I was amazed at how much an exhaust can cost for a sports car, or a diamond costs, or shoes, or how much my brother spends on gambling.
Just my 2 cents.

Oh, and so the crypticism (hey, I think Im coining that word) can end, yes, I did buy the fish. Yes I do also own a conspic and a interruptus, and yes, I also have many other pricy fish in my tank.

I subscribed to this thread so far lately 9 out of 10 replies has nothing to do with Wrought Iron. Why do you care how much other people spend instead of how much you have in your wallet?
