lolgranny

The DQ King
As the title says.

Ive had TERRIBLE luck with copperbands from the LFS and getting them to eat so if someone is tearing down and has one lmk.

otherwise, im interested in a couple dozen berghai nudibranch. I cant keep the aptasia down as much as i would like and since im having no luck with the copperband i want to get my hands on some.

PM is key.

Thanks
Dave

Have you tried live black worms? they are a miracle for butterflies and wrasses. I'm 3 for 3 with butterflies using black worms. One actually took about 3 weeks to accept anything and only ate black worms for quite a while after I got it to accept them. now it eats everything even pellets.

Also copperbands are very easily bullied I've learned and won't do much but hide if a tang is after it.

I just got one from reef wise. Won't eat frozen yet. Its just now been 24 hours. I bought some short neck clams from jewel. And he is picking at it. I am going to try some black worms. We will see. I have faith! Good luck finding one!

Where did you pickup the black worms at?

Pick on up like I did (at exotic aquatics) not sure if theirs are the Australian ones or not, but mine pecked at sand and rock for about 3 months, then one day magically he about pushes everyone out of the way for rod's and mysis. It's amazing, but he did well until he was ready. I don't feed black worms or anything, he just gets whatever he gets from the sand bed, rock crevices, whatever aptasia grow, and my frozen...

lately he's been coming up when I feed pellets and staring at everyone else.. I'm waiting for the day he tries to eat them!

WIsh i had that luck, on #8 from exotic. lol

how long does it take to get them to take black worms? i just picked one up yesterday but so far no luck with the worms.

sorry to hear that.... I must have gotten just extremely lucky. I've never seen a CBB eat like this guy once acclimated.. literally boxes out my other fish when mysis go into the tank.

IF you can find one that eats frozen already, that's a huge plus... I just must have gotten pretty darn lucky that he magically picked it up one day.

Just moving them can get them to stop eating. IMHO they should be banned from the hobby. Very low survival rates, among the lowest of fishes sold.

This. As sad as it is to say i agree 100% Ive had success with hundreds of fish in the apst years and this is the one fish that gives me the most difficult.
