Looking for a booster pump for ro. My water pressure is to low and takes forever to do water changes .It takes all day to make 5 gallons and its a new 5 stage RO unit .

first of all do you know what you actual pressure is ? if not how old is your ro unit ? if its not brand new check the canister filters that you can see and look to see if there is any color in the filter material as they should be pretty much white when they are "clean" . if they are colored dark you may just need to replace them and your flow will drasticly increase . you have stated its new but i just want to be sure its new out of the box . if its new i would look up "the filter guys" here on RC which are sponsors of RC. they will be able to tell you exactly what size booster pump you will need and also instruct you how to install and use it . its very easy to install and they are a great company with excellent customer service that will help you out and direct you in your efforts. there are only a couple of different sizes and its quite easy . you can find them here on RC by going into the "sponsors"section and then scroll down until you find them . please let me know if you have any further problems and also the pumps are a bit pricey so you may want to shop around once you find out what unit you need but the filter guys will be very helpful in directing you also after the purchase .
hope i helped ya and good luck !

if the kit wasn't new I would say the filters are clogged from (1) a water main break or repair (2) flushing or use of fire hydrants. replace the 3 primary canisters. This happened to me a couple weeks ago, I took out one of the carbon filters and debris fell out. earlier in the week we had 2 water mains break within 15 minutes of the house.

since they are new, Dave has a good point - check your pressure. I was reading 40 psi and adjusted the regulator to 50.

It is also possible there is an issue with the unit.

Thanks iamwrasseman ,The pressure is around 25-28 lbs (way too low) the filter is a few months old but not much water pumped thru it. I live in the country and just got city water piped to us and everyone here has the same problem with water pressure.
Letuanvy1268 ..whats the brand name and price of that booster pump? Iam intrested .thanks
Blurry -I bought this unit because I thought there was something wronge with old unit, even after changing out the filters and regulating, still slow .thanks for the help
I think a booster pump would help out alot ..

5 Gallons a day seems rediculously slow even at that pressure. I got my booster off of ebay... note that you usually have to buy the transformer and shutoff switch separately
