WTB/ISO: Cosmetus Wrasse

Has anyone seen a Cosmetus Wrasse for sale anywhere recently? My old LFS in Chicago keeps getting them in but I can't find one out here!

How much were you betting? I accept PayPal for payment. I have asked 6+ of the local LFS, and I also have direct access to most all of their wholesalers/distributors (Quality, Coast, ERI, A&M, Seagrest, Sustainable, ORA, and a few others). They are not on any of the lists right now that I can find. I have a strong suspicion that they are coming out of Global Reef Supply in Chicago but I don't think anyone out here orders from them. Currently just hoping one is hiding out there in an LFS I may not know about yet.

Thanks evolved, that is unfortunately my understanding too. Still hoping one is hiding out somewhere! I hate having a reef tank without a Haliocheres wrasse in it but I'm only interested in Cosmetus and a Radiant. I can find radiants all day long but have yet to have one come in that makes it past week one. Eating or not.

Hey Hunter, what do you mean by 'no one is collecting right now"? Just this type of wrasse, or fish overall?

On a somewhat tangential note, does anyone have an idea of when Red Sea fish might become available again?

Just this species.

Red sea is always variable; something about the turmoil in that part of the world tends to disrupt the important things like fish collection!

I knew that political instability has almost always influenced collecting in the Red Sea. This time, I have been getting the sense that we are looking at a more protracted halt in export-- I was just wondering if anyone had any particular insight there.

But that there could be peace in the region so we all could get back to the important things... like fish!

Red Sea collection is always a pain! Thanks for your help Hunter. I MAY have a lead on one at the moment. I can always have one shipped from Chicago but they are such poor shippers.

Huge shoutout to Mikey at Mas Frags for finding me my fish. Out of the 10+ stores I ask he was the only one who could bring in the goods! The fish was in its own area and quarantined over the last few weeks with any meds I asked for At no additional charge! Also grabbed a nice bleeding apple scoly when I was out there. Thanks Mikey!
