A Solana is a 34g tank with chambers in the back like a nano cube or biocube. It's a rimless tank with a nice stand (if he has it). They sold as a set with the tank, stand and a light, the most common of which is a round MH fixture nicknamed the disco ball. I have one and love it. It's a great tank and looks really nice.
Just pop 34g solana into google and you'll see what they look like.
