WTB: Royal/Hippo/Blue tang

I'm looking for a Hippo tang, 3/4 to 2" at the largest. If anyone has one they would like to find a new home, please let me know. It will be the swimming center piece of my tank. Well, along with the purple tang.

Or, if you've seen any in good shape at a LFS in the past few days, please let me know where. When I wasn't ready for one a few months ago I saw them everywhere, but I can't even find 1 now.

Pete, several tanks for sale I've been looking at have those tangs. I'll start asking if they will sell separately.

Oops, just realized you were looking for a small one. Don't see small ones in established tanks, but I'll still keep an eye out.

I've been asking on the tanks I've seen being broken down, and no one is willing to sell fish seperately yet, but if you see anything smaller than 2" or so.

Check Pets and Beyond on Fruitridge. I got one there 2 weeks ago at about 2" and it was only $18. He's been doing great and he's in w/ my PT.

Cool, thanks. Do you have their number, address, or a cross street? I can't find them on google maps or in whitepages.com.

Pets and Beyond are all out, but Exotic says they have at least one left from the Solomon Islands.

Dibs!

Exotic has about four or five 2" Blue Tangs left. All but one are active, eating and look very nice. They arrived Wednesday.

Pete - make sure you quarantine the tang before you put it in your tank. Hippo Blue tangs are very vulnerable to ich - especially in stressful situation.

Luckily, this is the first fish added to an all coral tank, so while I probably should have quarantined for 4 weeks, I chose not to.

All of my fish (except the new BT) are in my 55. Thanks again for the coral Minh.

I did, however, drip acclimate the BT over about 1.5 hours.
