WTB: Seio 620 - Also a question about it

I'm looking to get a cleaner setup going and was wondering if a seio 620 would be a good choice. The tank is all softies/shrooms/zoos/one LPS(plan on getting more)/RBTA. Will this be too much flow? It's going in a 30 cube.

Thanks guys.

Those are fine for both of your tanks. If you have alot of LR, this will slow down the flow alot because the water has to be drawn across or throught the LR, so you might want a bigger one.

I have an 1100 on my 65. Since I added the goniopora I had to spend a lot of time fiddeling with the flow pattern so it didn't whip him/her/it around but it does give a nice flow and it's not extremely laminar like a MaxiJet.

Since the price isn't much different, I'd probably go with an 1100 for the 30 and just adjust the flow down if it's too much for you. You can also put it right next to a wall and bounce it off of it to disperse the flow even more.

Careful though, I had my 1500's turned all the way down in my tank and the increased suction caused in the remaining hole that was open killed many of my snails that ventured too close and could not escape the suction power. Also had my small scopas get his nose caught in it. The reason I had them turned back was that they kept drifting my sand. Finally, after alot of tweaking their angle of position I was able to open them up a tiny bit without sand drifting. If you're going to have a sandbed might be better to go smaller unless you can think of a good way to disperse the flow more.

I have 2 1500's on my 65 with southdown even and my softies love it as much as the lps and sps. It's all a matter of placement. And yes if you try to turn them down you leave just a few holes open and it will suck a snail right out of it's shell. With mine fully open the snails and even stomatella clean the inputs.
