WTB: Sentinel for red bugs

Anyone know where to get either Interceptor or Sentinel (sold as heartworm treatment for dogs) to treat Acropora red bugs? This is prescription only, and every vet I've called either doesn't have it, or is ****ed off someone would waste there time asking about a fish tank. I believe no Internet order will ship without talking to a vet.

I have had problems with Acropora since restarting in May, and would like to try treating my tank for red bugs. I have the symptoms, but I haven't found anything that I am 100% certain is a red bug, but I have found several tiny crustaceans. I have nothing desirable in my tank that this might kill.

When I had redbugs a year or so ago I called VCA Midpark and they had some Interceptor. I explained to them what it was for and sent them some info about redbugs and the vets were fine with it. I had to sign a release to be able to use it for something other than dogs. They only had the small dog version at the time, so I ended up using most of a box for a 90g tank.

Ive used the bayer pesticide as a dip and it worked well for me. If you google "other red bug treatments" you will find the thread on it with the dilution instructions.

+1 on bayer. No script needed. Google red bug bayer and it will come up.

Bayer works well as a dip, but cannot be used as a whole tank treatment.

What Bayer product specifically? I understand I don't want aspirin, but there are several insecticides.

Make sure you double rinse after dipping with Bayer. Check a tri color first, they are pest magnets. Red bugs are easy to spot.

You can't buy sell or give interceptor here on Rc.

Do an internet search on Interceptor............there are plenty of vet supply on-line stores outside the US that sell it without a prescription.

I think I got this problem handled, but years ago there were 2 very active reef hobbyists in the area who were veterinarians. I haven't seen either in a while, but that doesn't mean they aren't around. I was hoping to find someone like that, or at least a recommendation which non-reefing vet to call before I ****ed off everyone in the yellow pages. This still might be useful to post on here, as I doubt I am the last person in Ohio to get red bugs.

Your not and wish I could help. Just sayin, I'd check for red bugs before nuking for nothing. Interceptor is pretty harmless but it does hit your pod and brittle star population.

Did you try VCA Midpark like I suggested?
