WTB Timers! (Sorry for being a post-hog)

I need 2 or 3 timers. Doesnt matter if they are digital or not... lmk if you have one/some you are looking to get rid of! They will be used for lighting (MH and PC)... Thanks!

Some of the more inexpensive timers are only good for running table lamps. I would be cautious using them to control high current draw items like our tank lighting.

Thanks. My lighting fixture has 2 250w MH and 2 96w PC. I was going to use one timer for each MH and one for both PC. Would the 250w ones be ok in this scenario? Sorry if this is a noob question!

No such thing....as long as it's rated for the load and is grounded, you're good to go.

Use appliance timers rated for 15 amps... or they will BURN up.

The cheep ones are not worth it. Go for the eletronic ones. Only a little more money and will last much much longer and are more versitile. I have had several of the cheep ones fail when just used on table lamps and when they do they usually end up scorching the wall. I consider them A fire hazard now!

The best ones are the digital ones that go into wall sockets... no batteries, and are rated for 24 amp load.

You have to wire them into a box, but I use them all over in my system.

Any household electronics shop carries them... The cheaper digital ones with the batteries will fry also... Had one of them go on me, then I switched to the bigger ones..

actually I have some used timers I want to get rid of. Most are 3 prone heavy duty the one home depot sells, plus a few others.
And I remember these have lifetime guaranty and I did took one to home depot to ask for exchange.

If you just want one or two just go get them at home depot, but you are looking for say 5 or more, I can stuff them in a box and ship to you for cheap.
