XM 15k bulbs

I ordered 2 XM 15k 150 watt double ended HQI bulbs from you folks. The light they produce is very yellowish, similar to light coming from a 6500k bulb. I wondered if you could assist me in determining if that is normal or if the bulbs are not producing the correct spectrum of light.

I know HQI bulbs can get better spectrum w/ age. Is this the case?

Thanks for the post, most HQI bulbs wont burn their specific spectrum right away, this is normal and it will vary between different types of bulbs. If you had just received these bulbs and started using them I recommend that you let them burn in for about a week, normally within that week the bulb will correct itself. Please be sure that you are using these bulbs on an HQI or Electronic ballast. I hope this information was helpful.
