XM 20K Vs Blueline 10K+ 175W

OK so I have tried booth of these lights .The Blueline10 +Lamp was bluer than the 20K XM (in my eyes) But it was dimmer. The XM 20K was on the blue side but not as blue as the blueline+ althow the was brighter & seamed to disperse better in a 54 Gallon corner tank (that is hard to light anyway) .
So I am undecided what lamp to stay with-my eye likes the blueline10K+ & my brain thinks the XM 20K is better for tank & corals.
I will try & post some pix soon!
IS THERE any other lamp that is really blue & bright that I should be trying ?
I have a se 175W with a M57 Ballast.

I have to agree. My XM 20K was a letdown, not nearly as blue as I'd expected....matter of fact, beside my Blueline 14K, no blue apparent. On top of that, the XM 20K is brand new (has burned in for about 12 days now) and the Blueline is not quite as bright, but is a LOT better blue/white colored, and is 8 months old!

Several members say the Iwasaki 15K is a great bulb but I have not tried it yet. The spare I have in the closet now is a Ushio 20K, but it will be my first Ushio.

I plan on ordering the Iwasaki 15K and putting it on the spare parts shelf for future use.

As of now, I prefer the BlueLine 14K bulb.

Oh, they are all run off of 175W blueline eballasts.

I have a iwasaki 14k and it's BRIGHT!
But it's NOT blue. Run on a 175 watt icecap.

Hi I just replace my 10,000 k Blueline lamp with 10,000k Reeflux lamps man o man is it nice:rollface: It is a killer blue white. I heard there 12,000k is just little more blue than the 10,000k lamps
