xr15 vs xr30

the xr30 will cover a 2ft x 2ft area I also see the xr15 will also cover 2ft x 2ft why should I spend 300 more dollars on the 30 vs the 15 if the coverage is the same? I realize the 30 has more LED's but coverage is coverage. right?

jrozzi,

With the Radion XR30w G3/Pro, you can achieve a spread of 30 x 30 inches with our standard 80 degree TIR lens, and you will have a much higher PAR rating with greater depth penetration. The Radion XR15w Pro works great on smaller, more shallow aquariums (typically 60 gallons or less).

Do you recommend the XR30 or the XR15 for a 34G rimless reef tank that is about 30 inches long, 15 inches wide, and 15 inches tall?

Thanks so much for any suggestion.

Dalcona,

For an aquarium that size, I would recommend using a Radion XR30w with our Wide Angle Lens kit. This will spread the light evenly across the length of the aquarium and prevent any dark spots or shadowing.

What Radion would you guys recommend for the JBJ 45RL? I believe it's 26.5x21x19. Its a AIO so minus the back part its actually around 26.5x17x19. Spoke to 3 different people at the same LFS and got 3 different answers.

Rob,

Every person you speak with will give you a different answer. The type of coral you plan on keeping will dictate the Radion you should use. In my experience, if you plan on keeping mostly SPS having the added power of an XR30w is always a good option. That said, if the aquarium will be mostly LPS and softies a single XR15w Pro will be more then adequate.

Thanks Alex. I went with the XR15 and it is plenty of light for this size. My SPS are all up top and responded immediately. I had a scoly that has been flat for weeks now and by the end of the night was puffing up nicely. Love the light.

A single XR15w G3 Pro would be perfect.

Hello Alex. Can i use 1 XR15W pro for 24x24x20 tank for SPS ? usually the sps corals will be middle on rock as unusual but i m not sure how it will look like or is that good match.? Whats maximum aquarium size for 1 XR15 pro if wanna put SPS ? Thank you already. I will set up aquarium for ur light :) cause the reef = light mostly then i ll start to buy light first then aquarium and other things. I will use 1 single XR15 and i will wanna have SPS tank. This reason The answer is important for me

I have this over a tank that is 26.5x21x19 and am using the wide lens. All my Montis' and Acro's are looking great and I have no dark spots. It's in acclimation mode right now and only at 60% as well. LPS are looking great too. My Acan's exploded after changing to this light.

I have a 48" long, 24" tall, 13" deep freshwater planted tank. Currently I have 200W of T5 HO, but I want to switch to LEDs. Reading about the various ecotech, I was thinking two XR15 FWs evenly spaced. Sound good? It seemed better than a single XR15 or XR30 for such a long tank.

Thanks.

4pcs xr15w pro or 2 pcs xr30w pro

4pcs xr15w pro or 2 pcs xr30w pro

I have a mixed sps lps tank 48 in. long x 24 in. wide x 24 in deep and I cant deside wheather to buy 4pcs of xr15w pro or 2 pcs of xr30w pro I would rather buy 4pcs of xr15w pro because the sum of wattage is 300w but sum of wattage of 2 pcs xr30w pro is 350w but will I get the same PAR distribution?

I'm getting a 48x24x16 tank and planning to use two XR15 Pros with the wide angle lens. Would this be the recommended route to go?

2 XR15FW will be perfect for an aquarium that size.

I've bought a xr15 pro and have a 24"x24"x24" tank so I"m going to find out if it will work I have little sps and a clam also lps all in a rms 130 t5s

How is the XR15 pro on the 24x24 tank? I have a 24x24x12 shallow tank with all sps. I'm just wondering if 1 xr15 pro is enough for the tank without shadowing in the corners and stuff.
