Yellow Carpet shrinking after temperature drop!

Hello,

I'm not for sure if I'm posting this in the correct place, if so Sorry

I bought some new anemones for my reef tank that as been cycled for a while.
it had a some fish and a clam with some mushrooms during the cycle.

I had to Cycle the tank for the second time due to moving.
I know cycling with fish and othe livestock is not good, but I can't just flush my fish:uzi:

However, the mushroom I had are not that sensitive for warm water. I know this, because they survived the summer with water temp from 38.C
Very hot. when I put in the new anemones, the temperature was 29.C
Still a bit warm. especially for my Euphyllia paranchora.
I bought a couple of fans and Turned it on to drop the water temp to 25,8 .C. But now My new Golden Carper shrinked 200%. it doesn't looks deflated. but also not healthy. It ate very well, but I just have it for a week now

is this normal? or is it going to die?:hmm4:

thanks

Most nems wouldn't survive a complete cycle. The reaction you are seeing is probably more due to ammonia or nititrite, which you should be testing for. Ammonia can be fatal even in very small amounts.

Ammonia levels are OK, I have a Ammonia alarm sticker.
No3 levels, are a bit high. I already put in a No3 Sponge from Kent I also have a denitrator for the NO3 and I do a weekly water Change from about 75 Liters
My reef = 500 Liters. For the new water (Tap) I use Seachem Prime. And I weekly check KH, use KH Balance to rise the KH till about 9dkh

I don't have a Calcium Reactor yet so I'm not really checking the Calcium levels, but my guess it' around 300. I tried to add Calcium from Kent, but was a bit expensive, and I didn't get the level much higher anyway.

this morning my Yellow Carpet seem much better. and the water temp is bit higher now, 26.8.C

Here a picture from my carpet before I lowered the Temp. if he look strange again, I'll make quickly a new picture.

I'm sorry, but you and your system are not ready for this animal. Your best bet is to take it back to your LFS and try to get some store credit before the anemone dies. Not trying to be harsh. I just really can't see this anemone surviving in your system.

mmmm, Taking it back, will not work

I live in China, and the LFS don't care about the animals, only about cash.

is their anything I can do?

or what do you suggest me to do with my tank.

I don't care about the cash so much, I just don't want it to die
Anemones are very Cheap here anyway, about 10,- USD

You can try feeding it mysis shrimp or something like that. It's bleached, so it's in need of some nutrition. Give it some good flow, and try to change water as often as you reasonably can. Other than that, I really don't think there is much you can do. Good luck, and I really hope it pulls through for you.

it is a natural color.

It' called a Golden carpet. he come from Guangdong (between Hongkong and more south of China (Hainan Island)

I'm feeding it Fresh shimps 2 each time and around 3 times a week.
I also add nutrients every 2 days. the bottle says "For all hard and soft bone corals and anumones" I'm adding 3 drops each time.

I just ordered a Tap water filter online. It comes from Shanghai. and I'll will receive it next week. so just one more water Change with tapwater and water conditioner.

this month I'm also planing to build a rifugium, but still having questions about it. I post them somewhere else. and a Calcium reactor.

See other post

I also want to build a Refugium, but I don't have the space near my tank.
The planing is to build one at the otherside of the room, against the window at the south side of the house, this way it will have Natural day light, with added light.

my question is how to build it so that water from my sump will be pump to the refugium and back without the refugium to overflow? it need to pump water for about 5 meter to and 5 metes back

I have a 500 Liter reef tank. what is the minimum size I need to build? or is a bucket sized enough like the Picture above?

Also I need to buy a Chiller before summer, can I build the chiller next to the Refugium and let it cool the water that get pumped back to the Sump? or at a extra pump in the Refugium so that the water from the refugium get cooled? what would be best?

it will be Difficult to pump the water to the Refugium, and let the graffiti do the rest. are their any other possible ways?
