My LFS has a yellow carpet. This is not the exact pic but one I found that look exactly like it.
Any thoughts?

My best guess is that in time it will come up to that minty green color.

There really isn't a run of the mill yellow anemone in existence though there are color variants which I won't argue can be yellow, yellowish, depends on lighting, tank, diet etc but chances are for one like that imo that it will color up over time.

It might not but really only time will tell.

Very pretty, but historically not a good survival rate. Its a gigantea, the tentacles are usually very short and they are usually very bleached.

In summary; one of the most difficult host anemones to care for and its not starting off in good shape. You do the math.

Thanks guys.
He only wants $30 but Im more worried about if it dies the effects it would have on my SPS tank. I do however think that I have a tank suitable to keep it with awesome water quality and 400W halides.

They are typically pretty cheap.
It doesn't matter how good your tank is, it is a very difficult to maintain anemone with one foot in the grave(and anemones only have one foot)

If you are a person who keeps an eye on his tank, the chances of it dying and rotting in your tank are pretty slim. It is pretty easy to tell when it is time to give up hope.

I tried one for the same reason a couple months ago. It was cheap, I have a good anemone tank, the worst that could happen is I end up flushing $30........
I ended up flushing $30.

Not bad for $30 but can indeed be challenging in that shape. I'd only get it if you can run carbon while you put it in for a few days and be able to stay home and watch it tom ake sure it settles in.

Always hard mixing mobile and sessile invertebrates

Good info guys.
My tank is in my office. I see it so much I almost want to take it down. LOL

Im probably not going to buy the nem.

I got a haddoni the size of a silver dollar that was that color. A few months later, it is green and about 6"-8"

Actually that's it in my avitar.
