Hi guys so I recently started a 10 gallon tank that has been running for a little over a month so far everything has been going smoothly. recently I bought a yellow clown goby and have been having truble getting him to eat the frozen brine shrimp I got for him however he is eating the flakes I feed my clowns and then spitting it out so I know he is hungry any suggestions on foods you're yellow clown goby likes to eat that I could get at my lfs?

Are the flakes too big for him? They have teeny mouths; try crumbling the flakes. Same with mysis and brine, sometimes they're just too big. You can try scraping the frozen cubes with a cheese-grater to make smaller mouth-sized morsels for him.

My clown gobies eat pretty much everything my other tank inhabitants do, except that the NLS pellets are too big if they haven't been softened first. Their main staples are NLS flakes, frozen mysis, frozen spirulina brine shrimp, and a frozen omnivore cube (sometimes Formula 2, sometimes Emerald entree, sometimes plankton). I rotate but all four of my clown gobies are happy to eat all of those. They don't bother with the nori I put out.

If he can get the flake in his mouth he should be able to eat it correct because I saw him take one all the way in his mouth and then spit it out is it possible he is just picky ? Also the shrimp are definitely small enough and he still ignores them

Both my clown gobi's eat anything they can fit in their mouths. often times they will take in a flake that's too big, chew it up a bit, spit it out, take in again, repeat... I watch mine do this with NLS pellets also.

One of mine will hoard pellets and stand watch over them for a while. Once they soften up, he eats them. Gobi's definitely have some quirky personalities.
