Yellow Cory Wrasse

I got one about a week ago.
Acclimatized him properly before being introduced in my tank.
5 -10 min later he buries himself in the sand. I haven't seen him since.
Is he going for the record? Should I start funeral procedures?

Any ideas?

that is his safe zone in the gravel . is he being harassed when he comes out ? are you sure he hasn't come out ? it is very hard sometime because they will come out when your not around and then all of a sudden they will stay out all day .don't try to dig him out of the gravel either .and that's a yellow coris wrasse ,correct ?

As I said before I haven't seen him since he got under.
Tank is a 50G breader. Two clowns, a small royal gramma and a yellow goby are all the tanks inhabitants.
The wrasse stay in the open was so brief I don't think he even noticed them.

PS - I think I'll light a candle for the little guy.

sorry i missed that part . dont get to worried just yet ,they can disapear for a couple of weeks initally without it being a problem .and he very well may be coming out when your not around for brief visits into his new home .believe me i have starred at some of mine for hours only to see them pop out for a brief 30 second swim and then go back under.also clown and that royal gramma can be terratorial so they may be harassing him the second he shows his face .not a perfect combo IMO

My yellow wrasse dissappeared for the first week. I thought he might be gone, but then one day when I came home he was out swimming around like he had been there for years. He'll be fine.

Also try checking for him when the lights are off. I've had radiant wrasses that took a while to adjust to my daylight schedule. Echoing the comments above, do not stir the sand looking for him.
