Yellow Encrusting Xenia frags ready

I've got a couple of my yellow encrusting xenia (YEX) frags ready to go if anyone would like them. The are grown on frag plugs. This xenia does not have stalks, it grows like green star polyps. Each polyp grows individually from the base. Under high light this xenia turns yellow. Encrusting xenia like this is unheard of in the hobby. Frags are $25. I can bring them to the meeting on the 23rd.

grows like anthelia but pullses like xenia.. is it possiable its a hybrid . iv never seen that

There are encrusting xenias, for some reason they just haven't made their way into the hobby much.

Chris, I just wonder, what make your Xenia "encrusting"? what is the difference from other Xenia that seem to encrust and take over anywere you place them.

Can you get any pictures of the base? Also, when you say "Under high light this xenia turns yellow." do you mean under high lights that are more towards the 10k (more yellowish/white)?

My xenia is "encrusting" because it does not have stalks like normal xenia. It grows in a solid mat like green star polyps and shoots up individual polyps from this base.

I'll get you some pictures tonight. When the xenia is placed directly under 250w bulbs or 400w it gets more yellow. I have not played with different light spectrums with it. It has always been under 10k in my tank.

does it grow ridiculously fast like other xenia? is it more difficult to manage being that it is not on a stalk?
