Yellow Headed Jawfish hiding

I got a yellow-headed jawfish over the weekend and he made a hole and has not come back out even to eat. Is this normal for them? I am a little worried that he has not stuck his head out at all.

I can see that he is okay in there with a flashlight, but he is staying about 3 or 4 inches into the hole. I wish he would peak out a little or come out to eat. Can someone with experience with these fish comment?

He should be fine. Mine went a week without eating when I put him in my QT tank. Once he settles in he'll come out to eat.

Every one I've had dissappeared for a while. They are very nosey once they get settled. I bet he builds his burrow right up front so HE can watch YOU. Probably start eating like a hog too!

When I got mine, I did not see them for a full 10 days. Suddenly they were all out and eating like pigs. Don't worry, just give them some time
