Yellow tail damsel aggression/strange behavior

I have a yellow tail damsel in my small tank. He's the sole fish in the tank and for the past few months has been relatively "sane".
This past week however, it's behavior has changed drastically. I kept noticed that smaller frags were moving. At first I thought a hermit or one of the larger snails were just plowing thru everything.
While sitting at my desk working, out of the corner of my eye I could see a sand storm in the tank. At first I thought there was something large in the sand that A) I never noticed before or B) I had some weird hitch-hiker.

The damsel was in a tizzy with fins up and clearly agitated. So, I sat back and watched. To my amazement, I watched up swim up to a GSP frag, and do this little dance in front of it. After that he opened his mouth and literally drove it across the tank...the source of the sand storms. He has all of the frags in one corner and is digging holes in the sand with his tail.

This is all new behavior. Sexual maturity or Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde?

When you say small tank, are you talking about the 8g? It could be stress as that is a pretty small tank for a damsel.

Mine attacks Caulerpa Prolifera. Not sure if he's eating it or just doesn't like those three leaves in particular.
He might just be bored and/or stressed... Probably shouldn't keep him in there. Yellowtails do tend to be slightly less aggressive than other damsels, so he should be okay in a community. That is- unless yours has yellow on his stomach. If he does, you have a yellow belly devil. Those are mean boogers.
