Hi all,
Though it's a long way off until I even consider looking at yellow tangs, I want to be knowledgeable before I make a regrettable or unfair decision.
1) my tank is a 5 x 2 x 2 tank (approx 150 gallons). Suitable for a yellow tang or no? I've seen a lot of conflicting opinions on this, but if more experienced reefers than I suggest skipping the tang because my tank is simply too small from experience, I definitely won't bring one home! For example, liveaquaria suggests 100 gallons but many posters agree 6' is appropriate swimming space. My livestock at the moment just includes an ocellaris pair.
2) Any tips or experiences with yellow tangs if you deem my tank appropriate? I'll definitely quarantine it in my 4' QT.
Thanks. I value your responses immensely and take them on board. I just want to prevent any fish from suffering in a tank that is just too small.
