Yellow Watchman Goby

Hi All,

I think I would like to put a Yellow Watchman Goby into my tank, however, I'm a little concerned abut it burrowing in the sand and disturbing the rockwork. I have about 1- 1.5 inches of live sand in the tank. I have no pistol shirmp for him to coexist with

How much burrowing do they do? My rock work is pretty stable, I think, but I guess I don't know how much I should even consider this.

Thank You In Advance,

Corey

IMO, I don't think your sand bed is deep enough. I have a 4" deep bed, and mine has burrowed about 2" under the rock where he has made his home. I don't know how others act, that's just my oppinion.

I think it would be fine. He will find a home. Dont worry about the pistol shrimp, my yellow just ignores my bullseye. Weird.

Mine dominates my tank---in a good way. He's not a nipper, he just blusters. If your rockwork is stable, he's not big enough to do damage.

I've 2 YWGs and they are under different rocks. One shares a rock with a Yel Jawfish and a Serpent Star (the YWG was last one in) and the other one shares with a Pistol. I noticed both YWGs don't do any digging but rather done by their roommates and if your rock work is staple you should be fine. After learning from the first tank this time around I'd all the base rocks in first then added sand.
