Looks really nice. I love your little goby - I love those guys. It looks like in the last pictures you added a black background? I really like the way the black brings out the colors of the fish.

No, i havent got a background yet. It looks like that because thye wall behind it is blue and my camera makes it look black. I have meant to get a background but every time i go to the LFS i forget.
Yeah the ywg is my favorite also but he is kinda making mad because since i got the tiger pistol shrimp he has been hanging out with it and he wont come out.:mad2:

So over the last week i have had diatoms like crazy. I will clean the sand off completely white. I get up in the morning still nothing there cuz no light. But when i get home around 6-7 the sand is completely covered. I already raised my flow. With the Korilia Hydor 3. I am redusing my photo period. I am also doing more water changes 5gal every 2 days. I turned up my skimmer. Any other suggestions to get rid of diatoms. May i need new light bulbs?

I am thinking about buying a frogspawn from a local reefer. Do you guys think my tank has strong enough lighting for it. And also does any one have any suggestion on how to get rid of the diatoms.

yellowwatchmen -- I have a similar size Perfecto tank that is currently a planted FW and I'm thinking about switching it to SW. I've bookmarked this thread for inspiration, very nice job!

What size sump/fuge tank are you using?

Also -- what size PVC pipe and drill size holes are you using? This tank really looks sharp! If your design is copyrighted, here's a heads up to phone your attorney because I'm thinking my 40 just might end up looking exactly like yours! ;)

The PVC is 1". My sump is a 20long. The drilled hole is one inch in diameter. Have you seen Mr.spiffys thread? Thanks for all the kind words.

Are you sure on those test values? You shouldn't have any ammonia in the tank, otherwise your tank is not fully cycled.

I took those about two days after i added 30 lbs of rock.I think that is what the ammonia is from. I kept the light off all day today to try and kill nuisance algae. And i just got home and the tank is cloudy. Does any one know what would cause this?

Well i found my pistol shrimp in my sump today. I have no idea how long it has been ther but it was nice to see him.:D Has any one else had there pistol shrimp wander around there tank. I have just never heard of any one have this happen to them.

He was probably looking for a new home and ended up in the wrong spot. Was your goby with him? Remember, these shrimp are ~%90 blind...
