I bought a Amphiprion ocellaris. It's about 1.5".I got it in my quaranteen tank, a 20 gallon long, I drip accumated him for about an hour and 35 40 minutes give or take a little. I also got two red legged and two blue legged crabs , kinda wish I didn't buy them but have them now oh well.
So tell me what your first fish purchase was ? How did it go?

It sounds like you're doing everything right so far. Kudos on having a quarantine tank. My first fish was a Clown too and I still have her.

Thanks . Im so happy. I have about three hundred dollars worth of gear coming in over the next week and a half. 200 pounds of sand and couple of powerheads and a auto top off pump.

My first fish were 4 blue devils used to cycle my tank. This was back in 1994 when this was a common practice.

YES!!!!!!!!! Another small victory for me! I've tried three times to feed him with no luck. Just about twenty minutes ago he took some shrimp forgot the name of which but im happy, oh it was frozen shrimp.

Great! It's nerve-wracking when they won't eat.

If they're brine shrimp, you'll want to transition him to mysis or some other frozen or prepared food with better nutritional value. Clowns are usually pretty easy to please.

My first fish was a tailspot blenny in a 10-gallon tank in 2003.

My first fish were and are a pair of true Percs. Still alive today 8 years later and spawn like clockwork about every three weeks!

Congrats!

My first fish, of course, were damsels used to cycle my tank back in the day...

Yellow tail damsel and yellow watchman goby for my first two fish. Lost the damsel but still have the ywg. It's been with me for four years and two tank upgrades.

I looked at my packages and I have 1 of each, I did start him on mysis.I have a problem of always feeding different foods over the course of a week. My thinking is I wouldn't want pizzia everyday lol. I'm also thinking that different foods offer different vitimins . Im hoping im right, after all it is nice to be so every know and then.

I agree that a varied diet is best, but brine shrimp have no real nutritional value. It's like feeding them popcorn.

They're useful to get a finicky fish eating, but you should switch to something else. I would try to get him eating pellets and other types of frozen foods (you can make your own with a food processor or blender). He should be fine.

I feed Hikari enriched brine shrimp that have been gut loaded with more nutritional value. It's just a small part of the varied diet I offer, but as long as my Mandarin loves it, it will stay on the menu. I also use it to target feed many of my corals.
