Where is this scott's pet shop in tinley park, and what kind of fish selection do they have?
Scott's is located at 3054 S. Wolf Rd.(on 31st at Wolf Rd.) in Westchester, 60154
Aquatica is in Tinley Park at 16649 S. Oak Rark Ave.(unit D)
Scott's has a LARGE freshwater selection. The saltwater has a good find here and there. I got some sharknose gobies from them last year.
Aquatica is all salt I believe.

I didn't mean to be confusing in my original post....just my way of saying I took a roundabout way to get to Tinley Park. It just so happens that the place my wife wanted to go to was in the same plaza as Aquatica in Tinley, so I stopped in there, too. It was my first time in there. It is all saltwater, and is a nice store inside. I didn't have time to stop and chat with the people there though. Prices for the fish (I didn't even look at the corals) were somewhat higher than Scott's, but less than I've seen at some other stores.

Now for an update on the Sohal....Just so he didn't get too used to being all alone in the 180, I added the small foxface back into the tank early the next day. I figured there was enough room and nooks and crannies for each to avoid the other. To my surprise, after about 5 minutes of flared venemous foxface fins and wagging Sohal tail spike(wagging, not slashing), they settled in and swam around together like they were old buddies. I decided that since I've wanted a school of yellow tangs for quite some time, now was that time. Short of working out a deal and waiting for any LFS to order me 5 yellow tangs, Scott's turned out to have the best price again ($24 after the 20% off) and I knew they had more than 5 of them so Monday morning I drove up there and bought 5 baseball sized yellow tangs. There was a little action when I first put them in the tank....I actually saw the Sohal dive bomb and take a small bite out of the dorsal fin of one of the yellows, but aside from that, there were no injuries. I also took 6 sheets of nori, crumbled it up with my hands as small as I could, mixed in 4 cloves of fresh, ground up garlic (yes, I'm one of the garlic believers), a tiny amount of finely minced fresh squid and shrimp, a touch of vitamins, and just enough RO water to make it pastey and froze it. This is my way of administering preventative maintenence for ich....after all, I just added 6 new tangs to the tank. This mixture gets fed once per day and they all love it. I've also been feeding 1 to 1.5 sheets of nori per day as well. As of last night, there are no signs of injury or disease, all fish have settled in and for the most part get along without incident. When I clipped the last sheet of rolled up nori in the tank last night, I saw all 7 fish trying to tear at it at the same time.....it looked like a feeding frenzy. I dug out another veggie clip this morning and I'm going to split the food up from now on.....give them a little room to eat.

I'm glad everybody is getting along. Isn't great when you see that many tangs interacting together? I tried adding a Sohal to my 180 but my Achilles said no way. I tried just about everything with no success. The Sohal did not get injured at all( he was bigger than the Achilles). So I grabbed a net and 2 minutes later I had a Sohal in a bucket ready to bring to a lfs. Congrats on your additions! :)
