I went snorkeling again today at the sebastian inlet. There was a strong out going tide and the water was relatively clear. I have my dive flag set up on a rope with a floating bait keeper tied losely to it. Every time I catch something I pull the diver flag and bait keeper toward and put my catch in it. I was lucky today and snaged two nice size high hats which I put in the bait keeper. Then suddenly the flag and bait keeper got away from me and was sucked out to sea on the strong current.
Then on my way home going over the inlet bridge I saw my flag was about to wash ashore on the beach north of the jetty. I quickly pulled into the north part of the inlet and scrambled to recover my flag and catch. I thought it was gone for good.

yeah high hats do unbelievable in the aquarium enviroment. I have one in my90 gallon and i have a friend who has 2 in his 125. they eat flakes and anything you drop in the tank from day1. great fish

Yep. I have two of them that I collected in my 125 gallon. They are doing great. They eat every type of food i put in the tank.
