I have bubblers on all my nanos in case of a power outage.

So far they've worked perfectly. Today I had a 15 minute power outage and the bubblers worked as claimed. But when power returned my Aquaclear jammed up and the return pump on another tank also failed. It's never happened before so I got complacent. Clean your pumps/powerheads often, it doesn't take long without circulation for a nano to crash,

You can always just add a small UPS (uninteruppted power supply) do handle the job for you. With multiple outlets, it can give temporary power to several devices.

Instead of the airstone I use rigid tubing, it seems to move the water better.

Actually that was hurricane preparedness from two years ago . If you plan on getting one do it sooner than later. My LFS had 50 people on a wait list last year. Not that it mattered, they couldn't get any during hurricane season.

I've had my 29 go for about 7-8 hours without power before. I was at work when it went out, so about 3 hours in I added a batt. powered airstone (maybe 2... can't remember) for water movement. Temp dropped about 8 degrees and I lost nothing.

From what I've heard the airpumps will run more than 24 hours on a pair of batteries.

Mine lasts 2-3 days before the batteries die

I have 7 battery air pumps I use on my aquariums. a couple different type all from Walmart in the fishing department. They are designed to run 2 "D" batteries. Since they are wired parrallel it will run on 1 "D" battery. They usually last about 36 hours before they start getting weak.
