extremely.

+4

You know what, I've always been a fan of just regular true percs and ocellaris clowns. I have a tomato clown who's been with me for 4 years, and I wouldn't give her up for anything, but if/when I start it all over again, I'll probably just stick with the run of the mill clowns. Funky stripe/dot variations just never did it for me.

how mean are maroons?

as swifty said, they are very territorial. its funny seeing the big female of my 2 chase my flame angel from her side of the tank. but if you can get a pair to match up, seeing how black the female gets to the smaller male is really something to see. i'll have to see if i can get a good pic of them from my tank

One of my favorite pair of clowns is the Clarkii's, especially when a big bubble tip anemone is involved. They are skittish clowns and they really love to snuggle up in the anemone at every scary moment.

how much does elmers charge for clowns true perc/ clarkis if anyone knows
If you like clarkii's (which get fairly big as far as clownfish go)... you should look into the Pearl Eye Bicinctus Clownfish. They look similar, but some come in with interesting additional markings.

I wouldn't recommend buying any type of clownfish variation from Elmer's though... they up the wholesale price like 300% on those type of items.

If I wanted something rare, I would go talk to Jeff at Aquaworld.

Picasso's in my opinion. I have a pair of grade B's coming soon for my new 75.
Nice!

I wish I could get a good shot of my Picasso's. I've had them a few months now... they're a much deeper orange now, and the black around the female's markings is starting to fill in. I wish I could make them hold still for a picture though.

I was hoping for 2 "perfect" grade A's (which IMO means the 2nd and 3rd bar connect on both sides of both fish)... which they aren't... but I'm happy regardless.

If you are trying to form a mated pair it is easier if you get one small fish (juvenile) and one big one (female).

I've only created my own pairs (1 big & 1 small). Clarkii grow fast and will lay eggs pretty fast if everything is perfect. Getting fry and raising fry and the microcultures will be up to you to take it from egg to fry.
