That would be great. I've never seen one around here and I dought if I asked they would even know what I'm talking about.
It seems like you have a great LFS that has some great connections for wrasses and you Have to be their best customer.

i think they might get sick of me i call every week to see what is on the list..and then i go to the store every week just to see what comes in...i have seen some cool fish just get shipped...

A. femininus is found in australia and vanuatu - around the coral sea area. Vanuatu i think is shipping them out now on an irregular basis. I have heard mixed stories on them about survivability rate. much like leopards.

Do any of them ever come your way DJ ?

1. Chaetodontoplus ballinae
2. Apolemichthys kingi
3. Paracentropyge boylei

1)Found in a marine sanctuary so getting them is going to be just about impossible. I'm not even sure there are any on public display?
2)Have tried to bring them in before but never was successful. I know of only 1 in a private collectors tank in Japan which I believe is in the new Angelfishes of the World book.
3)Unfortunately I think Mr. Boyle has cancer and is not in any shape to be diving, especially to the depths this angel is found. Maybe someday more will hit the market and become available.

This is a nice list... :) To elaborate, C. ballinae is found along the coast of Australia in deep water, outside of the sanctuary, but New South Wales has the species protected. The holotype was collected off of Ballina, NSW... thus the name. The Dallas Aquarium has a Lord Howe exhibit with conspics and Genicanthus semicinctus they collected themselves, and I heard years ago they collected two ballinae that did not survive... I need to confirmt hat though... none of display anywhere...

The kingi in the photo in the new book was not only from the authors tank... but collected by the author himself... Kiyoshi collected two and that was the one that survived... I have a friend in South Africa that has kept and collected them, and I helped him with collecting issues that were identical to issues with people collecting their Hawaiian cousin A. arcuatus. A. kingi are not illegal to collect and keep, but exporting is the issue... Here is a photo of a smaller kingi he caught, with a subadult imperator for comparison... it's amazing the fish that range to South Africa! What a beautiful fish kingi is...

What you say about Chip is true, but the someday you mention is TODAY... boylei is coming back on the market and Chip's group is collecting them on a demand basis... and he has orders... If I was single without kids I'd bite, but while I'm crazy this is a fish I am priced out of... :)

Copps

This depends on where you would be buying them and of course in what currency... with the way our lovely dollar has gone thanks to the powers that be it would be a very expensive fish here... and with a fish this expensive it's tough to figure a retail price... but while I won't say exactly it would be five figures... and not the one with four zeros at the end... :)

I think I would pass on the Boylei. So Copps what are your three most wanted and details asked in original post????? Regards, Tim

Is that site legit? They have an ultra rare peppermint but then everything else drops off as far as rarity.

Yes... ;)

Well, the mark up is quite high...
You can get Pepps for much less if you're serious, and anybody who wants to buy Pepps IS serious.

Interruptus Angel
A school of Achilles Tangs

And something I want very soon - a Regal Angel that has proven himself to be reef safe. :D

Well regals can be safe, safe, safe, and then change. Be careful if you don't have the ability to remove it.

First and foremost I would want a pair of Bandit Angels (the current "it" fish of the hobby). Next I would take a Conspic. Angel, and last but not least, a gem tang of course. So I am looking at roughly 8K in fish. Oh to dream..........:p

8K is way over what you could get those fish for. I would say maybe around 4500-5000. I really love conspics so much. Every time I see a new picture of one or see one in person I feel like I need to get rid of my big black tang, which I know would harass the heck out of him and also have to remove my X-mas Island Emperor. Someday I'll get that Conspic., such a stunning fish in person. Here are a few new pics I have found of Conspics I have found. Regards, Tim

brad - i haven't gotten one before. none have ever been on my AU list and i dont import from Vanuatu. 8k is about right for pepps. I would think more considering one hasn't been in the trade for a very long time (and you can easily die catching them) 8k is cheap IMO :)
