My YT has stop eat, I just bought it 4 days ago and he is refusing to eat. It is starting to look skinnie, and some little red spots on the sides, I have been trying to give him frozen, sea algae on clip, algae on pices, nori, formula one pelets, everything and is not eating. What can I do??

My tank is kind of new is has been running for 2 month, the other fish 2 perculas and 2 cromis are doing really good.

Try some live brine shrimp ... if a fish won't eat LBS then you've got real problems. Red blotches/spots are usually a sign of a bacterial problem which usually clear up on there own if the fish is otherwise healthy.

In the future remember that most fish are Wild Caught and often don't recognize "fish food". A Qt is a great place to acclimate wild fish to captivity ... allows you to train them to accept a variety of food without ruining ST water quality .. also allows you to "fatten" the fish up since he may not have ate much over the last several weeks. Lastly ... the QT allows you to cure things like "red spots" without harming the ST. Most bacterial issues can readily be cured in a QT with antibiotics .. but those same antibiotics would harm your ST.

If you do QT new fish for a while you will definately see them fatten up. I bought a small lawnmower blenny. He was only an inch. He's eaten everything I put in the tank, anything that hit the bottom. In 2 months time, he's doubled in size and now I'll actually see him when I place him in the 125 gallon display, whereas if I dumped him in off the bat, he'd probably hide and disappear. You'll definately appreciate the QT process.

Quarentin

Quarentin

Should I move the fish to it?

I will give it a try as last hope, I have a 10g with a aquaclear and a power head, I have water ready for WC main tank so I will use it to set up the quarenting. The real hard trick will be catch the Tang

Thank you

has styar to eat

has styar to eat

I just fed the tank with Frozzen "Emeral Entree" by San Francisco Bay Food. And the Yellow has starten to eat with great apettite (no wonder after 2 days with out it). I hope he keep this way, About the red sport they have goone. but still will keep a close eye to Yellow.

Still will performe a WC tonigth. My water has met the propiet PH now. It will help me to reduce the amonia. I think the amonia went up by overfeding trying to make the YT to eat.

I think the reazon was stress by the aclimatation to the new tank

Thanx a lot. I will be keep inform
