Why not just pickup some pure ammonia and cycle with that? Instant ammonia vs waiting for something to break down.1 L cost like $9 and I used the rest to clean with around the house.
Where can I buy it and what does it look like. I was thinking If doing that but couldn't find what I was looking for
Looks great!
Are there any places in the soo for common fish ect? I've just moved to the area (St Joseph island) and while my livestock did survive the trip up north. They have not fared as well in my parents bathroom the last month while we wait for our house to close. I will probably just get my livestock on gta trips but curious if there are any options at all up here. I'm aware there is one place in Sudbury and I saw petsmart at least stocks reef crystals up here.
Zack, check your local Home Hardware store for Old Country ammonia. 3.99 for 900 ml. This is what I use to cycle my tanks.

I am going from memory, so beware [emoji1] , I think I poured about an ounce in my system, which was about the same size as yours. I monitored with the Salifert ammonia kit and when the ammonia got to zero, I added another ounce. I know there is a formula from someone here on RC for precision, may be in the Reef Chemistry forum, but I was not very precise. I think the goal is to get ammonia to 2, then let the tank get to zero.Interesting. I just picked up a bottle. How do I use it. Do I put in a little everyday? Or a whole bunch lol, the tanks total free water volume is 250 gallons after rock and sand
I like your build so far, so I'm subscribing.
Did you also buy the flat pieces from Marco Rocks? I'm not a big fan of arches, but I like the rest of your aquascape.
Dude the scaping is sweet! Love the flat spots on the arch. I didn't see what light you are running? How many and what kind of bulbs and ballast will you be using? Love the tank stand work you did.
Is the pic of the last tank going to be your frag tank?
