Does anyone use zeovit here?
i do. for how my reef is set up, it works quite well for me. zeovit mag that is.
Zeovit mag ? what is that ? to raise ure magnesium ?
Zeovit is a system to filter nutritions![]()
is that a question alex ?
Just never heard that word before.
there is a first time for everything ? lol
congrats
I will get the popcorn
lol yeaI could guess
but I still dont know what this thread is about lol
LOL Nutrients ?
I think popcorn falls under the category of nutrition pre-consumption and then once it has been consumed and expelled....it then becomes nutrient.
Sorry I derailed your thread lilrodyreefer.
If what you're getting at is whether Zeovit is a viable way to export nutrients, then the answer is a resounding YES. It's probably the most comprehensive ULNS means available today, and has visual cues along the way to help one gauge their system's progress in lowering nutrients, promoting coral growth and coloring up SPS corals. It is by far one of the most expensive and time consuming of all the ULNS methods available, because it involves changing out the Zeolith stones in the reactor every 6 weeks or so, pumping the mulm that accumulates on the stones daily close to your skimmer pump, and monitoring your alkalinity levels to keep them low (6.5 - 7.5 dKH) near natural seawater levels. There is also a lot of daily dosing of expensive supplements and even more available once you're ready to tweak colors. An increase in parameters (especially alkalinity) causes a lot of problems in a ULNS system; specifically burnt tips and slow tissue necrosis (stn) at the base and body of corals. I don't recommend it as a viable option for someone new to SPS corals because there are so many other important fundamentals to grasp before attempting Zeovit. For the advanced SPS aficionado, the results can be a drop dead gorgeous reef tank, but for most it is simply too time consuming and cost prohibitive.
The same results can be achieved through other means as well...and have been for years. IMHO, honing those skills before one jumps into Zeovit will only help.
..and SPotter, I think the only appropriate forum that would entertain such nonsense is the Lounge.
