NewSalt,
You have some valid questions and frustrations that come along with this style of reefkeeping. It can be very frustrating to be on this regiment and still nto see results.
I think you will find, or are already finding, that the Zeo process beyond the first 4 months is really about getting a handle of cause and effect in your tank.
My comments that were in conflict with GSM were not ment to be in disagreement or to cause confusion. It just so happens that I had been following all of you threads on the Zeo Forum and knew that you struggled for the first 6 weeks at least with Alk swings and a few other things. No biggie, but as I mentioned, you might want to be cautious as your system might not be as mature within Zeo as others who did not have your struggles over the first 90 days.
I know you are currently getting some answer on the Zeo forum for the exact post you made here and hopefully they can help. Keep in mind that many of those main mods are not from N. America so their response times may be off from us.
On an additional note, There is no real reason why you cant go to 1L of Zeoliths, but I guess the real reason is why do you want to? Again, is there something you have read that leads you to belive this is beneficial or that a positive impact that can be had.
Not questioning your motives, but changing something to change it in the hopes that somethign different is going to occur is liekly not going to get you far.
I contribute my success with Zeo thus far to one thing, I dont make any changes very quickly. Now trust me, it is not that I dont want to, just like everyone else, I want to add supplement X and Y to see the results. THe fact is however, I usually travel 5-7 days at a time and wife simply doses off of directions.
The results are positive, gradual, positive changes. Again, I believe that it is because I am not screwing with the process.
I dont know you daily, weekly, or monthly involvement with the tank. But I woudl challenge you to make sure you are implementing the changes and letting them run their full course to analyze the impact.
Hang in there, you will win the battle!!
