Zoa and Tang???

Hello all,
I just ordered some Zoa's and want to know if i am going to have problems? I have a Scopas (Brown) Tang. Will he kill the Zoas?

I have never heard or read of them eating zoas. If they have, I stand corrected.

Mucho Reef

I had a medium sized red sea sailfin that acquired a taste for my zoos and he was not just eating algae between the polyps, he was eating the whole polyps.
I had to give him to another reefer that did not have any.
I have had a yellow tang for almost a year and he is fine.
I think the key was that I did not keep enough nori in the tank for the sailfin too graze on.
I have also heard of hippo tangs eating zoos-but those fish are crazy anyway. Good luck!

I don't have a scopas, but i do have a sailfin, mimic, and hippo .(go ahead call the tang police!) I just make sure they get enough nori as "geoxman" suggests,so they don't need to look for something else. But nobody can tell for sure...just keep a close watch.....good luck

my sailfin also seems to enjoy the taste of Zoa's. This only seems to occur when they don't have enough algae to eat.

Does the poison in the zoas not hurt them? I have a baby hippo, and he does not eat my zoas, or even any macro in the tank. He is a very good hippo...:D
