zoa eating nudies.

I have been doing freshwater dips and have been researching on how to get rid of them. I noticed them about week ago and have been treating them since. I came across a article and it said to put FWE in the tank and it will kill them in about 90 seconds. Do you think it will do any harm to the reef. I have some sps, alot of zoos and some leathers. What do you guys think.

Manual removal, scraping off the egg mounds off the zoa/paly frag/rocks and have some wrasses. We have a sticky for wrasses for zoanthid eating nudis

Yes, manually remove the eggs. They are white and they lay them in a c-like pattern usually at the base of a stalk.

Also, a wrasse is a good idea. A sixline or a yellow coris would be a good choice.

This could be performed in a separate container, but don't know how much is needed to take out nudis in a tank, what that would do to your tank with the recommended/needed amount to cure a WHOLE tank. it will also not take out eggs.

I seem to have wiped mine out with 4 treatments of FWE each a week apart and at 3x the label dosage. I have a zoa only tank though, so I would say do it at your own risk.

i'd get a wrasse, just to be safe. not only are there some great looking wrasse they will save you the PITA of dipping and/or treating your tank. i was dipping and manually removing for a week and once i got my yellow coris they were toast. good luck
