Zoa frags not making it

Yeah, I would dip the frags in a lugol's solution and see how it goes.

I've had good results with iodine based products to fight fungus/ bacteria on my zoas in the past (white/ gray films).
Follow the instructions on the Lugo's (for aquarium purposes), if so.
I like to use iodine based products for my dips, so...
You probably don't have much time to figure out and keep trying all kinds of dips.

Normally I use about 5 drops of Lugo's to every 8 to 10 oz of fresh water or tank water for a minute to 5 min dip.

Watch for predators at night...

Good luck!

I did a 50/50 hydrogen peroxide dip last night. I see no improvement today. I picked up some MelaFix and PimaFix from petco today. I was told to try dipping them in these. I cant find any Furan2 or Lugo's dip. Ive seen it online at various places but none in town. Should I place an order for the 2 dips? Should I even try the melafix and pimafix or is Furan2 and Lugo's what I should spend my money on?

Suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I'm sorry, but I've never used MelaFix and PimaFix for zoas, so I can't tell you if that's ok.
I don't find Furan 2 and Lugo's around my LFS too.
I have to order them from the mainland, if I want to.

Hopefully someone will tell you more about their experiences with MelaFix and PimaFix.

I got new pictures. Will update the thread soon
Water test today.

Ammonia 0
Salinity 1.025
Calcium 480
Magnesium 1480
Alkalinity 6.4
Phosphate .25
Nitrate 20
Nitrite .25
ph 8.2

Added Stability by Seachem
Added Fusion 2

Again, the alkalinity could be better (8 - 10 dKH).
Undetectable phosphates and nitrates would be good, not a huge deal...
If you get the alkalinity higher, the pH will get better too. :)

I've heard about hydrogen peroxide dips, you want to make sure they're closed and gently scrub at them, and from what I heard - it would be several days for them to show improvement. I hope everything works out with your zoas. Water parameters are important and moving them to a comfortable spot is huge too, but I generally say that if you water parameters are good, and they are in a good flow and light spot... leave them alone. They don't need the agitation, so they can strengthen up.

I dont have anything to magnify the pieces but the camera Im currently using. So basically what you see is what I see. Ive tried many different dips. Revive, Hydrogen peroxide, RO water, Coral RX

Got several zoa's in the other day everything from fruit loops to la lakers. I got about 20 frags of different zoas. They dont seem to be doing good at all. When I put them in the tank about 8 hours later they were all out and loving life so i thought... then next day 2 of them basically melted. The next day another colony didnt come out and had some white film on them. They all just dont look good at all. I checked my phosphate and nitrate and they are all awesome. No nitrate and no phosphate. Checked calcium while i was at it and it was 450. What should I do?

Hello Gtownguy, just got your message and I'm sorry to hear about your misfortune. I see a lot going on here, but first I wonder what their condition/appearance is as of today. Better or worse than in the pictures you provided? We discussed this on another site and I'd love to share my advice after hearing from you. Also please provide all current parameters and timelines.

There are some things I wouldn't have done, so I ask if it is ok to share it, so please take no offense my friend if I share some info with you.

Good luck man and I hope to hear from you soon.

PS. In the meantime, please consider preparing a 20 % well aerated water change.

This one was 2 days ago

I will test again today once I get home

The frags look worse everyday to me. I have lost 3 complete frags of zoas and seems I just lost 1 head of gonipora. My Wellsophyllia looks horrible the last few days. It is shivereld up pretty badly. After seeing the status of most of these I threw some clearmax and a bunch of carbon in my sump last night.
