Zoa mat disappearing

I have a few zoas colonies in my tank, and the mat to the zoas are disappearing. The polyps are still there, but end up falling off. I can figure out what is making the zoas lose the mat?

possibly spiders. i have heard of them doing this, but there are other reasons this could be happening. i would suggest dipping them if you can.

Spiders would be my guess too, they eat the mat.
