Zoa photo period

I recently started a Zoa only 75 gallon tank as the fish in my 220 were not receptive to corals. On the 75, I have hung a Marristar 2X250 halide(14K Phoenix Bulbs) which is supplemented by 2 48 inch actinic T5's. For nocturnal periods, I am afixing a LED blue fixure with some 25 moon lights.

Can anyone suggest the appropriate photo period for each light type in terms of start and end periods??? No one is home during the day and I am somewhat reluctant to run the twin 250's in an empty house until I am comfortable with same. Now , I am just running actinics during the day. I am using a screen accross the top to help diffuse some of the halide until all are appropriately acclimated to such intense light.

Thanks much mates

For my T5s (8x54watts) the attinics run for 9 1/2 hrs while the slightly whites, reds/pinks run for 8 1/2 hrs.

I have a similar setup on my 60 with SPS and zoas, but have SE bulbs 20K XMs. I run my 2 T5s from 3pm - 1am and run the halides from 4pm-midnight. I'm not home during the day either and so I like the lights on when I come home in the evenings. Plus, in the warmer months, there isn't as much of an issue with heat as the halides are on mostly at night.

When i had a zoa only tank i had 9 hrs of vho and 4 hrs of halides.
And before that i ran 10 hrs of PC on my 72 gal bowfront.

New photoperiod

2 Actinics T5 54 watters on at 6 PM to 7:00 PM

1 T5 - 54 watt 10 k on at 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM

2 x 15 k , 250 watt DE MH's on at 8:00 PM to 4 :00 AM

1 T5 - 54 watt 10 k on at 5:00 AM to 6:00 AM

Actinics on at 6 AM to 7:00 AM

9 hours halides.

Mine is a primarily sps tank though. My reflectors are set up so that the perimeter of the reef where I keep chalice and all of my zoas arent getting hammered with the 10 k halides like the rest of the reef

Anyone else? Seems like the good/educational/helful topics lately are taking a back seat to picture only threads.

i do 12 on 12 off. is that bad? seems like everyone else is doing less time. my lights are 1x 150w DE and 2x 14w NO T5s for some more color. many of my zoos are about 8" away from the halide but they seem fine.

I have some tubbs that are close like that and they're i'm not sure if they've made any new polyps yet but the polyps are definitely larger and thier skirts have gotten much longer since i moved them up.
